Powering Mexico Through People, Safety, and Excellence

How a culture of collaboration, accountability, and safety is driving operational excellence across NAES Mexico.

By: Lydia Sauer, Communications Associate

Reliable power doesn’t happen by chance. Behind every megawatt is a team of professionals committed to operating safely, working collaboratively, and continuously improving the way they serve customers and communities.

That commitment is at the heart of NAES Mexico. Across its sites, employees share a common purpose: to operate power generation facilities safely, reliably, and efficiently while fostering a workplace where every individual contributes to the team’s success. For Environmental, Health & Safety Site Coordinator at Central de Cogeneración A3T, Deysi Yomalli Alvarez Ramos, those values define the organization and shape its future.

A Team Driven by Purpose

“What makes the NAES Mexico team unique is the genuine commitment of our people,” Deysi said. While technical expertise is essential to operating complex power generation facilities, she believes it is the team’s commitment to one another that truly sets the organization apart.

Employees work together across sites, share knowledge, and continuously look for opportunities to improve. Regardless of title or responsibility, every team member understands that their work contributes to the safe and reliable operation of the plant. That shared ownership has helped create an environment where collaboration is expected, ideas are welcomed, and professional growth is encouraged.

For many employees, the work carries a deeper sense of purpose. Every task, whether in the field or behind the scenes, supports the delivery of reliable energy to communities across Mexico.

Safety as the Foundation

At NAES Mexico, safety is not viewed as a program or a checklist, but rather it is a mindset that influences every stage of the work. “It is not simply a documentation requirement or an isolated activity,” Deysi shared. “It is present from the planning of a job through its execution and completion. From planning and risk assessments to field observations and post-job reviews, employees are encouraged to identify hazards, communicate openly, and learn from one another before incidents occur.

That philosophy has created a culture where safety belongs to everyone, not just the EHS team. Employees are empowered to speak up, report concerns, and share lessons learned, reinforcing the idea that accountability is a shared responsibility. The team’s commitment has also produced measurable results, including no fatalities or regulatory penalties during Deysi’s tenure, while strengthening relationships with regulatory authorities and supporting long-term operational excellence. “When people actively participate, safety becomes a shared responsibility across the entire team.”

Building the Future of Energy in Mexico

Before joining NAES, Deysi had already developed a strong impression of the company while working alongside it from the client’s perspective. She admired its technical expertise, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to safety, all qualities that ultimately led her to join the NAES family.

Today, she sees those same values reflected in the company’s investment in its people. “NAES doesn’t just manage assets; it develops talent, shares knowledge, and promotes a culture where doing this the right way takes precedence over getting things done quickly,” Deysi said. She admires the way NAES builds lasting relationships with customers and communities. Looking ahead, she believes the organization is well positioned to continue growing while advancing operational excellence and supporting Mexico’s evolving energy industry.

The success of NAES Mexico is built on more than reliable operations, it is built on the people who make those operations possible. Through collaboration, a shared commitment to safety, and a culture of continuous improvement, the team continues to strengthen its impact both within the organization and across Mexico’s energy sector. As the industry evolves, NAES Mexico remains focused on empowering its people, delivering operational excellence, and ensuring the reliable generation of power for the communities it serves.
