OSHA VPP Star Certification! Carneys Point & Logan Celebrate

The Carneys Point and Logan Generating Plants (New Jersey) celebrated their VPP Star certification and re-certification (respectively) on March 9. The coveted VPP Star is OSHA’s recognition of employers and employees who have established and maintained exemplary occupational safety and health programs.

Logan provided breakfast for all in attendance prior to the dedication ceremony. The Carneys Point team held their ceremony later that morning, which included presentation by OSHA of the VPP Star flag. Following the dedication, they hosted a luncheon for all employees and guests.

Over 50 attendees participated in each celebration. General Manager Mike Salvador of both Carneys Point and Logan emceed both events along with Senior Safety Specialists Buzz Ryder and Rebecca Early. Guests included Paula Dixon-Roderick (OSHA Area Director), David Jackson (NAES Safety Operations Director), Dean Blaha (NAES VP of Power Plant Operations East), Jeff Delgado (Senior Vice President of Starwood Energy), Kevin O’Brien (Treasurer, VPPPA Region II), the Honorable Kenneth Brown (Mayor of Carneys Point Township), Jared Rollins (representing the Honorable Frank Minor, Mayor of Logan Township) along with several other representatives of NAES Corporation and NAES subsidiary PurEnergy.
