NAES Leadership Team
Our leaders put the NAES core values into practice every day as operating principles. They walk the talk, instilling a culture of transparency and integrity. They respond personally if they see a client need that has gone unmet. They embrace the adage of ‘strength in diversity,’ bringing a global range of backgrounds, perspectives and experience to the table. By extension, they have set a standard of treating everyone in the NAES community with respect, regardless of their personal characteristics.
Dean Blaha is a professional engineer and a highly accomplished executive with more than 36 years of experience in the power generation and industrial sectors. His assignments with NAES include Vice President, Division Director, Plant Manager, and Project Manager. Mr. Blaha has a proven track record in plant operations and maintenance of multi-million-dollar projects including hiring and training qualified personnel, leadership, asset management, and achieving challenging goals.
Mr. Blaha holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia, a Masters of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, and an MBA from Delaware State University. He is also a retired US Submarine Officer, having served nearly 30 years.
Mr Bull is the NAES Vice President, Compliance and Fleet Services, bringing more than 22 years of power industry experience to his role. As a 15 year veteran of NAES Corporation, he now leads the NERC, Environmental, Fleet Services, and Gridforce business units, ensuring compliance with NERC and Environmental regulations; providing engineering, drawing, procedure, CMMS, and outage support; and providing remote operations and transmission and balancing authority services for our fleet and outside clients.
Mr. Bull is Professional Engineer (PE) and a Project Management Professional (PMP), holding a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Ginger Elbaum has been an integral part of the E3 Consulting team since 2007. Ms. Elbaum’s current role includes overseeing the operation of and providing strategic direction for the business. In addition, she serves as a Project Manager for pre-financing, refinancing and sale/acquisition projects, especially for wind, solar, battery storage, natural gas, water systems and transmission (including submarine) technologies. Having a background in both engineering and construction, she also provides construction monitoring services across the different technologies.
Prior to joining E3, Ms. Elbaum served in various roles at Calpine Corporation, such as Field Engineer and ultimately Project Engineer on-site during power plant construction and commissioning, as well as serving as a member of the centralized engineering team that supported Calpine’s operating fleet of natural gas fired power plants. Prior to her tenure at Calpine, Ms. Elbaum was a Project Engineer for USG Corporation, securing capital for and overseeing capital improvement projects at a manufacturing facility.
Ms. Elbaum holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Norman Escover has over 30 years of experience in legal and operational management of engineering, energy services and construction companies. Since joining NAES in 2014, he has been actively involved with all NAES business units and subsidiary operations. He plays a central role in working with the leadership team to develop and implement the overall NAES growth strategy.
Norm has previously served NAES as SVP Maintenance & Construction, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, VP Human Resources and Interim CEO.
A licensed California Professional Engineer, Mr. Escover holds a JD from the University of San Francisco Law School and a BS in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo.
Mr. Geyer has over 25 years of experience in all phases of construction & operations management, estimating for industrial process, chemical, power, and steel industries. He has significant experience with bid preparation, estimating, and proposal presentation. Mr. Geyer brings his project management experiences and Senior Management skill set to NAES Power Contractors focusing on Safe, Quality driven project execution.
Prior to joining NAES, Mr. Geyer served as General Manager of Operations for Aker Construction, Inc., where his responsibilities included Maintenance for DuPont Washington Works, proposal oversight, and Aker pipe fabrication facility located in Marietta, Ohio. He also held the position of Manager of Industrial Operations for Sauer Inc. where he was responsible for Pittsburgh Industrial Operations including Pipe Fabrication.
John has been in the power industry for 25 years with experience in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. He began his career in the maritime industry before moving into the waste-to-energy field where he was involved in several plant start-ups and operations management. Prior to joining PurEnergy as Vice President in 2010, he was the President of Advanced Energy Systems, Inc., formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of NSTAR and now owned and controlled under a joint venture. John also worked for PurEnergy prior to joining AES and was General Manager of a biomass facility in upstate New York and a combined cycle peaking facility in Florida. Prior to that, he ran Delta Power Service’s East coast operations which included two pulverized coal fired plants and two combined cycle gas turbine facilities. He also served as the General Manager of a 30 MW combined cycle power plant in Lowell, Massachusetts.
John holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and an M.B.A. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a First Class Engineer in the State of Massachusetts.
Mark comes to NAES with over 15 years’ experience within the energy & utilities Industry delivering business driven digital solutions. Prior to joining the NAES team, he served 2+ years at American Water, the largest water utility in North America. Preceding American Water, Mark spent 5 years as Vice President, Information Technology & Chief Information Officer at Central Hudson, a gas and electric utility in NY. Previously, he spent 8 years with NextEra Energy & Florida Power & Light. In addition to his time in the energy & utilities industry, Mark spent over 15 years holding technology leadership roles across multiple industries including transportation, consumer products, and consulting.
Mark has a passion for identifying and delivering effective, value-based, innovative solutions. He leads with a spirit of collaboration, transparency, integrity, and he believes in levity. Mark is driven to create a ‘Digital Workplace’ coupled with a ‘Seamless Customer Experience’.
He’s earned a Master of International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Memphis.
Charlie Hoock has over 30 years of global energy services experience in the power generation, industrial, and oil & gas sectors. He has held leadership roles for P&L, Business Development, Facility Management and Asset Management. Prior to joining NAES in 2020, he held executive and senior level roles at EthosEnergy, Wood Group, Calpine and General Electric.
Mr. Hoock holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and earned his US Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer’s license. He served in the United States Navy Reserve for nine years achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He also served on the board of directors for Western Turbine Users Group from 2005 – 2008.
Since 2015, Ms. Ingersoll has been the leader of the Gridforce team growing existing core transmission and balancing authority services, and exploring expansion opportunities in remote generation start and dispatch, microgrids, and cyber security.
CJ Ingersoll graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999 and is a Licensed Attorney in the State of Texas. She started her legal career as a solo practitioner prior to shifting to a career in the energy sector as a System Operator at Duke Energy North America in 2001.
David Jackson is an accomplished Senior Management Safety Professional with extensive environmental, health, and safety management experience encompassing all aspects of safety in power generation and heavy industries throughout the U.S. He has developed/implemented occupational health and safety programs and conducted safety training. His experience includes developing/managing a safety program for over 4,000 employees resulting in a significant OSHA recordable incident rate reduction. His safety compliance experience includes:
- EHS program development, implementation and training
- Safety assessment and evaluations
- Auditing/ accident investigations
Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Ferris State University.
Mr. Yogi Minemura oversees the corporate strategic planning and business development, including the company’s mergers & acquisition activity and handling of shareholder’s relation matters. Prior to joining NAES, Mr. Minemura worked directly for Itochu International Inc., a shareholder of NAES, where he supported NAES to drive short to long term corporate strategies and to expand the business in the stage of planning through execution. He has been a part of the Itochu group for more than 25 years.
Having started his career in high school delivering parts for his father’s electrical construction company, Mr. Olsson has more than 30 years of experience in the electrical construction industry. Following in his father’s footsteps, he developed an affinity for heavy industrial electrical construction. After earning a BS in Economics from the University of Oregon, Mr. Olsson helped to form what is now Olsson Industrial Electric.
Patrick Ombrellaro has over 30 years of experience providing consulting, project management, strategic development, and sales/commercial leadership domestically and internationally. He has extensive experience in the Energy
Sector working with Developers, Utilities, IPPs, and Financial Institutions across a platform of conventional, renewable, and emerging technology projects.
Mr. Ombrellaro has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington.
Dana Petrin has over 30 years of energy services experience in the power generation and industrial sectors. He has held roles of progressive responsibility in operations and maintenance, commercial, asset management, and environmental, health, and safety with global companies including Calpine, EthosEnergy, Wood Group, and Cube District Energy (an ISquared company).
Mr. Petrin holds a BS in Environmental Management Columbia Southern University. He served in the United States Navy for six years as a machinist mate. Dana also served eight years as a Firefighter/Engineer in California.
Since 1985, Paul Plath has managed and performed due diligence reviews to support the financing or acquisition of over 170 electric power, energy, or industrial projects. Projects reviewed cover a wide variety of power generation technologies, petrochemical plants, alternative energy, mining and manufacturing facilities. Mr. Plath has significant experience with power generation technology and has written numerous reports and papers on new and emerging technologies for electric power generation and energy conversion.
Mr. Plath has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Colorado.
Jason Pond was the President of Greenberry Industrial from 1999-2021 after assuming the company’s leadership from his father, who founded the business in 1974. Over the past 19 years, Mr. Pond has grown and diversified Greenberry through an entrepreneurial leadership style, building and retaining highly motivated teams, and successfully identifying opportunities for long-term growth and stability.
Billy Wang has over 30 years professional leadership experience, with the most recent 15 years in the evolving renewables and power services industry. Prior to joining the NAES team, he was the Head of Service at Envision Digital, and prior to that was the SVP/GM at MaxGen Energy Services and VP of US Services at Schneider Electric.
Billy is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach where he earned his degrees in Marketing and MBA in Finance.
Mr. Warren has 24 years of experience in the power generation industry and is responsible for overseeing a current NAES fleet of 114 plants, totaling 25,897, and includes 42 CCCT plants, 31 SSCT plants, and 41 plants of other technologies. He co-leads, the development and execution of policies, programs, and procedures designed to ensure safe and reliable facility operations in compliance with applicable permits, agreements, laws, and regulations. He is a registered professional Electrical Engineer and hold a license in the state of Kansas.
Mr. Warren’s experience in the energy industry includes positions as Director and Plant Manager (NAES), O&M Manager and Electric I&C Engineer (Black Hills Power), Electrical Engineer and Electrical Controls Engineer (Black & Veatch). Mr. Warren’s experience includes electrical design, construction, startup and testing, operations, maintenance, administration and management and is a recognized subject matter expert in system design and specifications for electrical systems and equipment. Mr. Warren has an B.S.E.E. from the University of Wyoming.
Stan Weeks brings over 20 years of Human Resources, Operations and Industrial Engineering expertise to the business. He has experience leading human resource initiatives within fast-growth, innovative companies in the Aerospace and Forest Products industries. Mr. Weeks has a strong track record of increasing value through human capital management, operational excellence, strategic planning and execution across a number of businesses.
While at NAES, Mr. Weeks has focused on ethical business practices, continuous improvement and working with leaders to improve operations, grow the business and develop talent. He holds a BS in Management from Central Washington University.
