NAES Leadership Team
Our leaders put the NAES core values into practice every day as operating principles. They walk the talk, instilling a culture of transparency and integrity. They respond personally if they see a client need that has gone unmet. They embrace the adage of ‘strength in diversity,’ bringing a global range of backgrounds, perspectives and experience to the table. By extension, they have set a standard of treating everyone in the NAES community with respect, regardless of their personal characteristics.
Norman Escover has over 30 years of experience in legal and operational management of engineering and construction companies. Since joining NAES in 2014, he has focused on all NAES and subsidiary operations, risk management, HR, compliance, contract optimization, insurance, dispute resolution, and corporate governance. He plays a central role in implementing the overall NAES growth strategy and has served NAES as SVP Maintenance & Construction, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, VP Human Resources and Interim CEO.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Mr. Escover holds a JD from the University of San Francisco Law School and a BS in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo.
Charlie Hoock has over 30 years of experience in the global power generation, industrial and oil & gas sectors. He has held leadership roles for P&L, Business Development, Facility Management and Asset Management. Prior to joining NAES in 2020, he held executive and senior level roles at EthosEnergy, Wood Group, Calpine and General Electric.
Mr. Hoock holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and earned his US Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer’s license. He served in the United States Navy Reserve for nine years achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He also served on the board of directors for Western Turbine Users Group from 2005 – 2008.
Mr. Wilems joined NAES in 2018 as Vice President, Controller and currently serves as the Vice President, Group Controller and Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the company, he served as a Director of Integration and Accounting at Chicago Bridge & Iron, Inc. and as a Senior Director and Chief Accounting Officer at The Shaw Group, Inc. Mr. Wilems has also served clients for BDO Seidman, LLP, a global public accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as assurance partner and as an audit and accounting director, and at Arthur Andersen, LLP in Houston, Tx as a manager in the audit practice.
Mr. Wilems graduated from the Center for Internal Auditing at Louisiana State University, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Yogi Minemura oversees the corporate strategic planning and business development, including the company’s mergers & acquisition activity and handling of shareholder’s relation matters. Prior to joining NAES, Mr. Minemura worked directly for Itochu International Inc., a shareholder of NAES, where he supported NAES to drive short to long term corporate strategies and to expand the business in the stage of planning through execution. He has been a part of the Itochu group for more than 25 years.
Stan Weeks brings over 20 years of Human Resources, Operations and Industrial Engineering expertise to the business. He has experience leading human resource initiatives within fast-growth, innovative companies in the Aerospace and Forest Products industries. Mr. Weeks has a strong track record of increasing value through human capital management, operational excellence, strategic planning and execution across a number of businesses.
While at NAES, Mr. Weeks has focused on ethical business practices, continuous improvement and working with leaders to improve operations, grow the business and develop talent. He holds a BS in Management from Central Washington University.
Having started his career in high school delivering parts for his father’s electrical construction company, Mr. Olsson has more than 30 years of experience in the electrical construction industry. Following in his father’s footsteps, he developed an affinity for heavy industrial electrical construction. After earning a BS in Economics from the University of Oregon, Mr. Olsson helped to form what is now Olsson Industrial Electric.
Jason Pond has been President of Greenberry Industrial since 1999 when he assumed the company’s leadership from his father, who founded the business in 1974. Over the past 19 years, Mr. Pond has grown and diversified Greenberry through an entrepreneurial leadership style, building and retaining highly motivated teams, and successfully identifying opportunities for long-term growth and stability.
John has been in the power industry for 25 years with experience in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. He began his career in the maritime industry before moving into the waste-to-energy field where he was involved in several plant start-ups and operations management. Prior to joining PurEnergy as Vice President in 2010, he was the President of Advanced Energy Systems, Inc., formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of NSTAR and now owned and controlled under a joint venture. John also worked for PurEnergy prior to joining AES and was General Manager of a biomass facility in upstate New York and a combined cycle peaking facility in Florida. Prior to that, he ran Delta Power Service’s East coast operations which included two pulverized coal fired plants and two combined cycle gas turbine facilities. He also served as the General Manager of a 30 MW combined cycle power plant in Lowell, Massachusetts.
John holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and an M.B.A. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a First Class Engineer in the State of Massachusetts.
Since 2015, Ms. Ingersoll has been the leader of the Gridforce team growing existing core transmission and balancing authority services, and exploring expansion opportunities in remote generation start and dispatch, microgrids, and cyber security.
CJ Ingersoll graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999 and is a Licensed Attorney in the State of Texas. She started her legal career as a solo practitioner prior to shifting to a career in the energy sector as a System Operator at Duke Energy North America in 2001.
Since 1985, Paul Plath has managed and performed due diligence reviews to support the financing or acquisition of over 170 electric power, energy, or industrial projects. Projects reviewed cover a wide variety of power generation technologies, petrochemical plants, alternative energy, mining and manufacturing facilities. Mr. Plath has significant experience with power generation technology and has written numerous reports and papers on new and emerging technologies for electric power generation and energy conversion.
Mr. Plath has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Colorado.
Ginger Elbaum has been an integral part of the E3 Consulting team since 2007. Ms. Elbaum’s current role includes overseeing the operation of and providing strategic direction for the business. In addition, she serves as a Project Manager for pre-financing, refinancing and sale/acquisition projects, especially for wind, solar, battery storage, natural gas, water systems and transmission (including submarine) technologies. Having a background in both engineering and construction, she also provides construction monitoring services across the different technologies.
Prior to joining E3, Ms. Elbaum served in various roles at Calpine Corporation, such as Field Engineer and ultimately Project Engineer on-site during power plant construction and commissioning, as well as serving as a member of the centralized engineering team that supported Calpine’s operating fleet of natural gas fired power plants. Prior to her tenure at Calpine, Ms. Elbaum was a Project Engineer for USG Corporation, securing capital for and overseeing capital improvement projects at a manufacturing facility.
Ms. Elbaum holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Mr. Geyer has over 25 years of experience in all phases of construction & operations management, estimating for industrial process, chemical, power, and steel industries. He has significant experience with bid preparation, estimating, and proposal presentation. Mr. Geyer brings his project management experiences and Senior Management skill set to NAES Power Contractors focusing on Safe, Quality driven project execution.
Prior to joining NAES, Mr. Geyer served as General Manager of Operations for Aker Construction, Inc., where his responsibilities included Maintenance for DuPont Washington Works, proposal oversight, and Aker pipe fabrication facility located in Marietta, Ohio. He also held the position of Manager of Industrial Operations for Sauer Inc. where he was responsible for Pittsburgh Industrial Operations including Pipe Fabrication.
