NERC Compliance
In response to widespread power outages, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) established a compliance plan to support its mission of ensuring the reliability of bulk power systems in North America intended to:
- Prevent widespread power outages
- Improve communications with outside entities
- Protect cyber assets
- Protect energy producers against financial losses
NAES provides a comprehensive NERC compliance strategy that delivers all the tools necessary to understand and address NERC and regional reliability requirements for the Generator Owner/Generator Operator, Transmission Owner/Transmission Operator, and Balancing Authority.
NAES has implemented its NERC Compliance Program at over 150 facilities of all technologies, including 40 wind generation stations. NAES proven compliance strategy establishes a complete, site-specific compliance plan suitable for any generation facility to:

NAES Compliance Program - A self-conducting program consisting of templates that guide plant personnel through the steps to compliance. When compiled, the completed templates and supporting documentation constitute the NERC Compliance Plan for the facility. The program also provides recommendations for record keeping, records organization, scheduling, and adopting a NERC compliance culture.
GAP Analysis - NAES works onsite or remotely to evaluate the current compliance program, identify deficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement based on extensive audit experience.
Program Support - NAES assists in implementing the compliance program and preparing auditable compliance files. NAES also provides ongoing support, keeping compliance managers up-to-date with current NERC standards revisions and interpretations.
