Renaissance Switchyard Construction
Renaissance Generating Station - Carson City, MI
Greenfield construction of a four-breaker ring bus configuration, 345 kV switchyard. The switchyard feeds the combined output of 640 MW from combustion turbines at the Renaissance Generating Station into the local transition system at 345 kV. The switchyard is interconnected to the Michigan Electric Transmission Company 345 kV transmission system at a single position on the collector bus, and is designed to accommodate the addition of a fifth generating unit.
NAES Power Contractors provided all labor, site management, documentation, and materials under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract, completing the project on schedule and under budget.
